So, the past two days, July 17-18, we suffered some downtime, as was apparently obvious, however, it wasn’t anything to do with the actual server, but instead, with our DNS (Domain Name System) records, as they were gone. This was largely an oversight on our end, since, upon discovering that our domain expired on the 17th, we attempted to log in to the account associated with the domain, however, much to our dismay, none of the passwords that we had on file worked with the username. Normally, this wouldn’t have been a problem, however, the email that was linked to the account was a personal email address, or rather, a throw away email address that was used solely for Eden related endeavours. Upon contacting their customer service, it was revealed to us that we could make a “Non-registrant renewal” which would allow us to pay for the domain on behalf of the original account holder, however, we wouldn’t gain access to the account, nor would it be transferred to us, as the domain is still active, it worked, thankfully, we are now doing our best to make sure we get a hold of the information that we need in order to keep this from happening again.
While we are on the subject, it was mentioned that some users are still having troubles accessing the site, this is normal, it takes twenty four hours for the DNS to propagate completely, so, by today, it should be available to everyone.
